Who Leonard Nimoy Was To Me

"I have and always will be...your friend."
This is Leonard Nimoy. Many may know him as Spock from the old Star Trek TV show or the old Star Trek movies (though he's made a few cameos in the JJ Abrams Star Treks). He passed away the other day at the age of 83. I was blessed to see him play Science Officer Spock in many episodes and movies as a kid. I remember watching the movies on video cassette tapes that my uncle had recorded from Showtime over and over again. As a young kid who had just immigrated to the states and was learning how to be just human much less American and most of the time feeling like a fish out of water,  Mister Spock served as a wise sage as he also learned how to be human. As I would grew and continued to watch the Star Trek's over and over Mister Spock and I would grow in our humanity together, and through this I found comfort whenever I felt like the alien.

Many thanks are owed to Mr. Nimoy for many lessons on how to be a constant learner, growth gained not by oneself but through friendships, and the difference between intelligence and wisdom.

Rest in peace Leonard, may the Lord give you rest.

Blessings~!
