Happy Halloween!

So today is Halloween and unfortunately, I have had more than my fair share of Halloween fun through the years. My church doesn't even like to call today Halloween. They hold alternate activities at the church and call it "Holy Winning Day". Sounds like Charlie Sheen became a Christian. Besides, the kids still dress up and get candy from church while playing different games. Any other form of nomenclature would suffice, even something as simple as "Holyween" but I digress.

Jesus Loves Noobs: Gundam Scale and Grade for Beginners

So I'd like to start a new corner on the blog for beginners getting into new hobbies called "Jesus Loves Noobs! Beginners tend to get a lot of flack especially from more established veterans and naysayers (ask Jesus), so hopefully this is a safe place for you to get your questions answered on different nerd (or spiritual) topics. But bear with me since in some areas…I am also a NOOB.

So today I'd like to talk about the different scales and grades that Gunpla has to offer. I hope that more people will find a new hobby in Gunpla through this post.

So let's talk about scale first. Scale simply means the number of models it would take to fit into one life size model. So most HG (high grade) and RG (real grade) models are 1:144 scale. This means your model is 1/144th the size of a life size Gundam. 1:144 is the smallest scale that Gundam models come in (about 13cm tall).

God and Gundam

Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

So as of late, I have been really getting into Gundam model making, or as the nerds who are into Gundam model making call it: Gunpla (Gundam plastic model for short I'm guessing).

First few SDs (Super Deformed) I warmed up on
Left to Right: SD Wing Gundam, SD Master Gundam, SD Super Gundam
Second batch of SDs were newer and slightly more challenging
Left to Right: SD Kshatriya, SD Sinanju
