The Guardians of the Galaxy are here! And they are hooked on a feeling, high on believing that you're in love with them. Yes the song in the trailer by Blue Swede is oddly appropriate for this ragtag band of cosmic misfits that no one in the Marvel Universe or OUR universe for that matter seems to know.
The trailer may show Marvel taking a big gamble with not many being familiar with the comic book franchise, as well as the fact that they are making the movie look like an action/comedy which they have never done, so there are some big risks. But Star Lord and the crew aren't new to being the underdogs and giving the censored bird to naysayers who don't know them. As a matter of fact, the whole comic book is based on Peter Quill's (Star Lord) cocky, stick it to the galactic man attitude, that subsequently get he and his crew into some pretty fun misadventures. For comic book fans, this movie will be a big victory to Marvel staying true to its source post Disney takeover, and for newcomers, it should prove to be a fun ride and a chance for you to actually fall in love with a new team of intergalactic protectors. I am super stoked for this movie! It's out the first week of August!
