Nerd Builds: HG Miss Sazabi

Happy summer vacation nerds! Today we'll be looking at the 1:144 HG Miss Sazabi from the Gundam Build Fighters series. This is the second model that is this time personally built and customized by Aila Jyrkiainen. Notice you did not see one for the Qubeley Papillon which was her first model. That's because I just plain didn't like how it looked and didnt want the eyesore in my display case. However, this one is a vast improvement. Let's take a look see.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Today I would like to commemorate the end of finals and the end of the 2013-14 school year by reviewing this year's second Marvel summer blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man 2(ASM2)! Ok to start off, I really enjoyed this movie. I know what's wrong with it, but there's much that's right with it also, so let's go with that first.

I heard that they changed the costume colors back to the traditional bright red and blue for ASM2 which is good in my book.

Nerd Builds: SD Gundam 00 Raiser

The last SD in my SD building binge is featured in today's Nerd Builds. The 00 Raiser is from Gundam 00 and is piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei in the second season of the show as the main Gundam. Purported to be one of the most powerful Gundams in the Gundam line and one of my personal favorites, it was a fun build. Let's get into it.

Comic Book of the Week 5/14/14

Today we take our first departure away from my bread and butter at Marvel and venture into IDW territory, but we do it with good reason because we're taking a look at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). And we're not just talking about one issue but were talking about one whole arc (which are issues 29-32)!

I first fell in love with this arc just looking at the cover art. 

Nerd Life: New Job, New Opportunities to Bless Others

So I got a new part time job and I started yesterday. And it's at...Undercity Comics! Actually at Undercity, Too which is our brand new store in Uptown Whittier. I've always wanted to work in a comic book store, and since I've been a customer for the past few years and I needed to start making money for all of my hobbies, when I was presented to the opportunity to work with the owners, I was super stoked. Praise God because Mrs. Nerd and I could always use a couple extra dollars and chiefly because I have another opportunity to glorify Christ who loves. So as a comic book lover, I will be loving on others who also love comic books. Here's the virtual tour:

Nerd Builds: SD Musha Gundam

Welcome back Nerds! Today's build features the always cool SD Musha Gundam! This Gundam has been around for awhile and is a mash-up with traditional Japanese samurai armor, which is just the best mash-up ever.

Honestly, this should be the mainstay of all Japanese-mecha because it typifies everything cool.

I wanted to put a spotlight on a comic that originally, I deemed not worth reading. But I can now say that I stand corrected after much convincing from my friends at Undercity.

These two are worth comparing because as you can see, they are very much alike.

Nerd Life: Appreciating the Small Things

This morning I had two instances where I was able to capture the moment and just appreciate everything about them.

1. I was standing in line at the coffee shop smelling the roasted coffee, hearing Counting Crows, "Long December" in the background and thinking, "I love this song, and I haven't heard it in awhile." 
2. A friend and I were walking around campus and ended up sitting near an open field of beautiful green grass being cut by a riding lawn mower and smelling the cut grass while feeling the cool breeze and it reminded me of my days in Georgia and my favorite movie Forrest Gump.

Twas a beautiful day...
